Description
Two Skys is an independent game development studio rooted in both Japan and Australia, creating distinctive experiences primarily for mobile platforms. We design games that respect the player's skill and intelligence, while focusing on tight mechanics, genuine challenge, and comical charm.
Our core philosophy is to craft deep, memorable experiences intentionally scoped for short, mobile sessions. We specialize in titles that appear friendly and approachable at first glance, but quickly reveal layers of skill and strategy demanding real mastery. At Two Skys, we aren't aiming to build the biggest games in the industry; we are building games that leave a lasting, positive impression on the communities that play them.
In the future we aim to build Two Skys to serve as a cultural bridge between the Japanese and Western game development industries. Our long-term mission is to establish a global talent pipeline, providing aspiring young developers from both regions with hands-on, international studio experience. By engaging in both Japanese and Western creative design practices, we aim to nurture the next generation of creators while fostering mutual cultural exchange through the universal language of game development.
History
After discussing the idea for several years, Two Skys was finally founded in January of 2026 through the cross-cultural partnership of Jay Deck (an Australian developer living in Japan with decades of coding experience) and Naomi (a Japanese IT professional seeking creative freedom). Bonding over a shared love for classic games that respected the player's intelligence and time, they set out to build a studio that captured that spirit.
At the moment Two Skys builds games in the gaps between everyday life, focusing on polished mechanics, distinct visual personality, and transparent player communication.
Both Jay Deck and Naomi are working hard to make Two Skys their fulltime future.
Philosophy
We grew up with games that valued imagination, challenge, and community long before the industry became optimized for profit traps and aggressive engagement metrics. We believe that spirit is worth keeping alive.
At Two Skys, our core goal is to earn our players' respect. We aim to build experiences that make players say, "You've got to try this... these people actually care."
Projects
The BittyByte Series
BittyByte Games are small, brutally challenging experiences built to be finished, not farmed. Each new release launches a global race to clear the game, offering real-world rewards for the winners. When the initial race concludes, new rewards and hidden features become available, but they remain locked behind in game challenges.
Tiny games. Serious bragging rights.
TouchDown (BittyByte 1)
TouchDown is the first BittyByte challenge. The goal is simple: Land your rocket.
Brought to life with a chunky cartoon illustration style utilizing clean black outlines and flat shading, the welcoming visuals deliberately mask a demanding landing sequence. As with all BittyByte games, the release triggers a free-for-all competition where the first players to beat the game will win custom trophies; gold, silver, and bronze.
TouchDown Press & Creator Access:
StarKind
Currently in active development for PC and Mobile, StarKind is our flagship real-time sandbox space game. It offers a universe shaped entirely by its players. It's a world where ships fly into the unknown, crews scramble, merchants peddle, communities flourish, and disasters wait politely for attention. Players can join in their own way, solo or together, and leave their mark on the galaxy.
